You won’t need to make the trek into the city to experience the magic of the big screen this August. A special regional partnership is bringing the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) directly to the Yarra Ranges, making world-class cinema more accessible than ever before.

The screenings will be hosted at The Memo in Healesville, located conveniently at 235 Maroondah Hwy. This partnership promises to deliver a curated selection of international hits alongside the world’s largest showcase of exceptional Australian filmmaking, right in the heart of our community.

You can plan your movie nights around two specific blocks of screenings. The first set of films kicks off on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 7:00 pm and runs through to Sunday, August 16. If you miss the first round, you’ll have another chance when the second series begins on Friday, August 21, 2026, also starting at 7:00 pm, and continuing until Sunday, August 23.

Because this is a major festival event, booking is required to secure your seat. You’ll find the local charm of Healesville paired with the prestige of MIFF, making it the perfect excuse for a night out. Whether you are a die-hard cinephile or just looking for a unique way to spend an evening in the valley, these screenings offer a rare opportunity to see incredible stories unfold just down the road.

Since you’ll be in Healesville, you might consider pairing your film experience with a meal in town or a stroll through the local shops. Just remember to book your tickets in advance to ensure you don’t miss out on these special presentations.

Head to the Yarra Ranges Council website to secure your booking for the 2026 festival.
